The brother of the late R&B singer Gerald LeVert was pronounced dead just before midnight Sunday at Lutheran Hospital.
The Cuyahoga County Coroner’s office said Sean LeVert’s body was taken to the hospital from the Cuyahoga County Jail.

A warden at the jail says a guard checked on Sean LeVert last night and noticed he was having difficulty breathing. Medical help was called, but could not save the singer. Jail officials say they were not aware of any pre-existing medical condition.

Sean LeVert, 39, of Streetsboro, was the younger brother of Gerald LeVert and was a member of the band “LeVert.”

The warden says Sean Levert was being held in jail for allegedly failing to pay about $80,000 in child support. He had been in the jail for about a week. - more
