We love to feature young women who inspire & go after their dreams. Meet two sisters, who happen to be identical twins, Danielle and Chantelle Piper. Not only are they fashion models but also entrepreneurs who created and run their own businesses. Empress got a chance to pick their brains to find out more about the dynamic duo.

Who are you and what do you do?

Our names are Danielle and Chantelle Piper.we are identical twin fashion designers and models. Danielle is the owner of Kastle Designs and I (Chantelle) am the owner of Treasure Chest.

Explain your different ventures/companies

Kastle's design is a women’s wear fashion line. It consist of fun, fancy, elegant, unique , show stopping, jaw dropping pieces. I (Danielle) recently launched my line during fashion week in February.

Treasure chest is a jewelry line which consists of glamorous earring, necklaces and bracelets that can be worn both day and night.

Favorite fashion pieces from your collection

Danielle: My favorite piece from my collection is the Adelaide skirt. You can wear it from day to night. In addition, you can rock it with or without the chain suspenders.

Chantelle: My favorite piece is the turquoise necklace and earring set.

What your background, where did you guys grow up, go to school?

We are half African and half West Indian. Our mom is from Montserrat and our dad is from Ghana West Africa.We were born in New York but raised in Ghana untill we were nine years old. We graduated from Fashion Industries High School then continued our education in Fashion Institute of Technology, where we both achieved our bachelors degree.

What's a day like in your lives?

A day in our lives consist of, designing, fittings, photo-shoots,  errands and last but not least dancing the night away in the city, with our friends.

What keeps you motivated?

Success is what motivates us. We are young , talented and educated young ladies. Determination is what gets us going everyday. Our love for fashion and our sense of creativity is what gives us the drive to think of  brilliant ideas and bring them to reality.

Favorite things to do other than work?

We love to go dancing in the city, go to the beach, travel and most of all spend time with our family and friends

Who are your favorite designers?

Our favorite designers are Coco Chanel, Christian Lacroix, Alexander McQueen, Elsa Schiaparelli and Valentino.

Do you feel that you inspire each other?

Danielle: Since we are twins, we tend to think alike and feed off each other's idea. “Great minds think alike”.

Chantelle: We inspire each other a lot. Most of the time, we have the same theme for our designs and her pieces work well with my jewelry. We are like a one stop shop because people can buy their dress and jewelry all in one place

Do you have other siblings and are they also in the fashion world?

We have an older brother and an older sister. Our older sister Racquel is in the fashion world as well she has her own business which is called Quelly Rue design which consists of fabulous jewelry, handbags ipod cases,headbands etc. Feel free to check it out here.

There are theories that twins have an intense connection with each other, is that true?

Danielle: That theory is soooooooo true. We can read each other's mind and emotions, a little spooky but very cool. We are one but two.

Chantelle: We definitely have an intense connection with each other. We feel each others emotions and think alike to the point that when we talk we say the same words at the same time or finish each others sentences. People always laugh and say ”Aww that’s cute, how do you do that?” and we say “We can’t help it,it just happens” lol.

Where do you see yourselves in 5 years?

In five years we see our company growing as well as our designs being  placed in high end department stores and boutiques.
