GIRLS VS. GROWN WOMEN (FUNNY STORY)

Created On: 11/29/2009 11:41:31
GIRLS want to control the man in their life.
GROWN WOMEN know that if he's truly hers, he doesn't need controlling.

GIRLS check you out for not calling them.
GROWN WOMEN are too busy to realize you hadn't.

GIRLS are afraid to be alone.
GROWN WOMEN revel in it-using it as a time for personal growth.

GIRLS ignore the good guys.
GROWN WOMEN ignore the bad guys.

GIRLS make you come home.
GROWN WOMEN make you want to come home.

GIRLS leave their schedule wide-open and wait for a guy to call and make plans.
GROWN WOMEN make their own plans and nicely tell the guy to get in where he fits.

GIRLS worry about not being pretty and/or not good enough for their man.
GROWN WOMEN know that they are pretty and/or good enough for any man.

GIRLS try to monopolize all their man's time (example: don't wan't him hanging with his friends).
GROWN WOMEN realize that a lil bit of space makes the together time even more special and goes to kick it with her own friends.

GIRLS think a guy crying is weak.
GROWN WOMEN offer their shoulder and a tissue.

GIRLS want to be spoiled and tell their man so.
GROWN WOMEN show him and make him comfortable enough to reciprocate without fear of losing his manhood.

GIRLS get hurt by one man and make all men pay for it.
GROWN WOMEN know that was just one man.

GIRLS fall in love and chase aimlessly after the love of their affection ignoring all signs.
GROWN WOMEN know that sometimes the one you love doesn't always love you back and move on without bitterness.

GIRLS will read what I wrote and get pissed off at me.
GROWN WOMEN will read this and pass it on to other GROWN WOMEN and their male friends...

SO THEY TOO CAN PASS IT ON TO THEIR GROWN FRIENDS!!!

POEM: NO PERMANENT SCARS

NO PERMANENT SCARS
By Sister Siebra Muhammad

Shadows of the past fall behind me
Tossed aside on the road less traveled
Before me is the path to my future
Footsteps line my dreams unraveled

In the distance I see what I have lost
Growing darker with the fading sun
The moon calls the stars to join him
For every new light, one wish undone

Past the sky I look toward the heavens
To God this one question I ask
If what I wanted is no longer possible
My future will you please unmask

This is something that I can not answer
It can only be answered inside of you
Past choices will effect your journey
And the pain you put someone else through

Don't give up, stay strong and have faith
Your purpose I'll promise you'll find
The key is to let go of yesterday
Look forward and never behind

I keep walking, careful not to turn
As the sun once again starts to rise
Unclear of tomorrow or the future
But with a faith that is newly energized

MY THOUGHTS ON THE BLACKMAN AND BLACKWOMAN'S RELATIONSHIP

Created On: 11/29/2009 11:35:18
This is a reply to a posting in my NOI group and now I share it with all the members here.
Your View?

Peace and Blessings Sister Aminah,

I welcome your post on the Blackman's and Blackwoman's relationship with open arms. I value your enthusiam because you remind me of a younger version of myself (LOL). However, while I am not interested in putting blame on a person, what I am interested in is looking at how we as a people got in this situation. We all are familiar with the saying "divide and conquer", well that’s pretty much it in a nut shell. If Elijah in the Bible shared with us that our duty was to turn the heart of the father back to the children, and vice versa therein lays the solution.

I had a sister tell me that she was bitter because of our ancestors (Black men) didn’t do anything when the white slave masters were raping women. I told her that they were raping the Black men also. We can’t make God to be a liar, He told Abraham that his seed would be in a strange land and be afflicted by a stranger for a time (400+yrs). God said AFTER that time served He would bring us out with great substance and punish the ones that afflicted us.

One need only see that this prophecy is coming true, this white man’s world is all but over. The Earth is smitten with a curse (hurricanes, wildfires, the fall of the economy, etc.) look at the White House. Now I love Barack Obama just like you and about every other Black person in America does, but it’s pretty much old white men laying down the rules, and white people are catching hell from their own children. Their children aren’t running for offices because they know it’s an illusion and a burden.

Their youth are living it up like it is the last days for them (Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and the Bush twins are perfect examples). While the Black Community (make that about two-thirds of us)is still holding on to ignorance and the very God the white folks enslaved us by.

When we go back to OUR culture OUR first love keeping the Most High first in what we do we are ensured success as a productive family and Community. We have been robbing, stealing, and killing each other (mentally and physically) and as long as we continue we will be uncomfortable. This is why Jesus said it is expedient that he goes away so that the comforter can return.

We keep looking and praying to Jesus when Jesus said don’t pray to me, pray to the father that sent me. Jesus also said don’t marvel over his works because GREATER works we SHALL do. Meaning the Kingdom (all solutions) is truly within US!

In order for the comforter to return means comfort was once here, we were abiding by the universal laws and principles of Creation. When we ceased to abide by these laws and started practicing the European way, confusion set in and we have not been at peace as a whole since.

I say the same as scripture the handwriting is on the wall for clear eyes to reflect. Our Black men/woman must take back their rightful ruler ship but it won’t happen unless they take control (emotion and discipline) of themselves.

The union of the Blackman/woman is not a union to be in competition with each other, it is not a union to complete one another; it is a union to balance one another. We will be one or nothing. United we stand, divided we continue to fall!

We are blessed with so, so much knowledge that we may fall victim to scripture, man is forever seeking knowledge but hardly ever finding the truth.

The solution is upon us and unfortunately we spend so much time on the B.S. (LOL), but when we focus on the love (agape if you will) and the lowering (patience) of one another we will be whole again.

Love 2 Live & Live 2 Love,

MY THOUGHTS ON THE GOOD HAIR MOVIE

Created On: 11/29/2009 11:30:44
Peace To All:

I was reading a post on an Essence.com message board containing some reactions to Chris Rock's Good Hair movie and let me say it left me scratching my head. Before reading the post I was watching a Youtube clip of high school students commenting on the movie and there was a 16 year old girl in the clip. She was saying that if a girl had nappy hair guys at the high school she attended will not consider her as sexy. It was one of the few Youtube clips I found to be both sad and funny at the same time.

But we all know children are innocent and the words that this girl speaks are only from her feelings and what her mother had shared with her. We know that feelings change. Chris Rock commented and wondered why its okay to display black men in the worst light but why we get offended when we're discussing black women's hair.

Black women and men are as beautiful equally to me and in the eyes of God. I have lots of love for my people and in time their eyes will be open as well. I'm more than sure that Chris Rock is not in harmony with hurting anyone's feelings in the movie. He said the reason for doing the movie was because one of his daughters asked him the question "How come I don't have good hair?" All he's interested in was in getting his daughters and other Black women and children to embrace their culture and be proud of the person that they are INSIDE. And what better way to do it than putting it out there in a movie!

I had always had hair past my shoulders and I never wore a relaxer in my hair. My grandmother had hair long enough for her to sit on and everywhere I go people tell me, "You look just like your grandmother." But looking back, I have wore my hair in a variety of styles. I have wore some straight hairstyles, some curly hairstyles, some braided hairstyles, and some Siebra-What-The-Hell-Was-That hairstyles (LOL).

I have no problem telling a sister how good she looks with her natural hair. I believe Black women and children are still beautiful regardless of how they wear their hair. THAT will never change. Perhaps the folks on the websites who are attacking Chris Rock about this movie need to be evaluated before printing such foolishness.

Until Next Time,

Siebra
